A Police source told The Guardian that Ekpo who was in company of his friends, had gone to celebrate St Valentine’s Day when he decided to swim and was drowned.
Eye witnesses said that he was rescued from the pool and was taken to the hospital but died few minutes later.
But Lagos State Police spokesperson, Dolapo Badmos, a Superintendent of Police told The Guardian that the ACP had gone for a swimming exercise when the sad incident occurred.
