A teenage boy almost died after digging a hole under a tombstone trying to steal gold teeth and other valuables in the Central Cemetery, the Bagcilar district of Istanbul, Turkey.

A grave-digger, believed to be around 16, was found trapped under the grave by a security guard who later called the police to set him free only to put him in prison moments later.
According to the guard, he was patrolling the territory when he heard a voice shouting “Allahu Akbar” from the underground. Once he got over shock, he realised it was a young man underneath the tombstone calling for help.
Surprisingly, when police arrived the boy refused to come out and officers had to fire teargas inside to force him out of the hole. After being pulled out of the grave, the teen was taken to police station for identification.
During interrogation the boy admitted that he is a Syrian refugee, who was separated with his family and decided to try tomb robbing to get some money for life but ended in a grave himself.
